Tarot of Hidden Knowledge

The Story Behind The Deck.

The project  started as a devotional act towards the Infernal Devine that I, Emmian, work with - as a part of my spiritual journey. This evolved into more portraits - even of demons I had never heard of befor.

Ever since I started using oracle decks and tarot cards I had an urge to make one of my own, but never had the confidence of doing so. But that was when a very stubborn King told me to stop being afraid of the consequences and follow my dreams. Why wait?

So, why did I chose the name Hidden Knowledge? It was inspired by the occult where the magicians gather knowledge to strive to become a more powerful person, some would even go as far as to say, a living god.

There are some clashing opinions between the occult black magicians and demonolaters, and some of those are the way to approach demons. In some books you read about summoning and controlling the demonic forces, but I wanted to create a deck where you as a practitioner would form a stronger bond/ relationship to the infernal Devine. Not by control but by mutual respect.

To me they are not only a brute force of overwhelming power that some tend to describe them as. They are guides, mentors and companions. Of course they have turned my life up side down and changed the way I view life in general - but I see that as a good thing. Not a pitch black void of scary beings ready to consume me, but to guide us and help us find our purpose in life. And I am truly humble when I write this, because never did I think that I would actually be greeted with this much love from all the demons I've contacted so far.

It was actually  Lucifers idea, I had been asking him for advice about which demon I should assign to each card. He simply told me to ask them myself... what a typical Lucifer answer.

It scared the hell out of me (no pun intended) and I carefully discussed which ones I could contact and who I really shouldn't get involved with AT ALL. So what happened? I lit a candle and focused on their sigils, or sometimes they just popped by while I was drawing them and  sometimes Lucifer sent them to me.

But every time I was approached by a new demon I was always greeted with a sense of appreciation, they seemed to love the idea of this deck and they were all so grateful to be a part of it. I was astounded, I felt like I was bothering them, but they made me feel loved and important and I was showered with apprishiation and respect.

And before I said my goodbyes I always added, "may this deck leave your name on peoples lips," because all of them are truly worth mentioning.

With this said, I was selecting demons intuitively or with the help of my demonic team. There is no logic behind which demon is left out or who was added at the time.  I trusted my creative process and I now, as it is finished I can clearly see the purpose of each card clearly. And I hope you do to

Ace of cups - Naamah.

The embodiment of women's sexual autonomy and erotic rites. She rules the ecstatic point where sex, spiritual ecstasy and music intersect.

Some would say she is another aspect of Lilith, her ally, her sister or her daughter. She is also the first demon you will meet when entering the cave or Lilith Qlipha, to initiate into the Qliphoth, where strong emotional impulses might test you.

Naamah is said to be a sea spirit which also connects her to the suit of cups which element is water.

The Ace of cups denotes a burst of joy, the feeling you get when falling in love. It is also connected to creativity and starting new projects. The card also represents intuition, and showing the importance of listening to your inner voice. In order to obtain the kind of emotional or spiritual fulfillment that is depicted (on the original image of the tarot) you will need to follow your inner voice and remain true to it, regardless the situation.
