The Nightside Oracle
To me creating art is my form of spellcraft. It is not the end product that is magical but the creative process. This way of working came naturally to me, like most artists I have been painting and drawing most of my life. But before I met the infernal devine I did not have a sense of purpose for my art, I struggled to make sales and I tried to make art that was appealing to others. Now I draw art that speaks to ME and I’m letting myself be guided by them as I create it. Which was the process in making this deck.
Drawing is also a form of meditation for me, the first sketch and the outline is always made with a lot of thought and I make changes on it until I’m happy with the placement of everything. But then I let my mind stay blank and I don’t think about what I am doing as I color or shade the artwork, my mind wanders and I let the muscle memory of my fingers work on their own and I let myself be guided to the finish line. That’s the pros of having traditional art training from different art schools in the back of my head. But I’m here to tell you that you don’t need that to be able to create what I call Häxkonst.
I used color magick, sigil magick, occult symbolism, alchemy and demonolatry to create this 44 card oracle deck.
